I am the Programme Manager for Nursing in the department of Pharmacy, Health and Wellbeing.
My research interest is in Dementia care, and I developed a ‘My Life Story’ book and an innovative care pathway for older people diagnosed with dementia in an in-patient ward. This has a great impact in the journey of the patient with dementia, and has benefited many patients. I did this at Northumbrian Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, and the research work has been submitted for publication.
I am also interested in exploring the tensions among international Nursing students in UK educational system and its effect on their feelings for emotional safety, and I have proposed this for my PhD project.
I am a Steward of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), a Member of the University College Union (UCU) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
