I am a Principal Lecturer in Strategic Management and Business Environment at the University of Sunderland in London and Assistant Head of Academic Operations. I am also a fellow member of the Higher Education Academy and currently leading and teaching strategic management and International Business Environment.
My responsibilities as Assistant Head of Academic Operations include working in collaboration with the Head of Academic Operations to assure and enhance the quality of student experience across the campus. My role also includes supporting University initiatives in learning and teaching, promoting the aims, values and priorities through individual and collegial practice and the development of pedagogic approaches in various subject disciplines.
I am a PhD researcher at the Lord Ashcroft International Business School of Anglia Ruskin University. The focus of my research is the examination of the relationship between microfinance and ethnic minority microbusiness development in the United Kingdom. I hold Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Sunderland. I am a fellow member of the Higher Education Academy and an affiliate member of the Chartered Management Institute.
Prior to joining the University of Sunderland in London, I worked at Greenwich London College as a Business Management Lecturer and Academic Manager where I taught corporate strategy, organisational behaviour and managing people. I also provided leadership for all business management programmes and line managed the academic staff at the college.
My professional career started in 1998 at the University for Development Studies in Ghana where I worked as Senior Accounting Assistant until 2002 when I moved to the United Kingdom.
My primary research interests are concerned with Enterprise Finance with a focus on microfinance in the developed world, financial inclusion, ethnic minority business financing and microbusiness development. I am also interested to expand my research interest further into ethical finance and alternative finance for oil and gas projects in Sub Saharan Africa.
