Linda Fangawa

BA (Hons) Business Management

After raising four children Linda Fangawa is focusing on her education and career. For her, diversity and location were important factors in choosing to pursue her degree in Business Management at the University.

I have four girls. I’d love to bring my kids to the campus and show them that anything is possible, even if you’re a little bit older.

"I was initially worried about coming to University. I didn’t know what to expect. When you hear the word “university” you think you have to be a brainbox to come here. But I’ve gained so much confidence.

I originally looked at Kingston University as it’s close to my house. But the University of Sunderland in London is more diverse in terms of the age and nationalities of the students that come here. It’s also in a much better location near the heart of the Docklands business district. The application process was also really well structured and quick.

Enrolment went really smoothly and I also got lots of one-on-one assistance from staff. They were really helpful at setting expectations on both sides. I knew exactly what was expected of me right from the beginning.

I have four children, all girls between 12 and 19. I’d love to bring my kids to the campus and show them that anything is possible, even if you’re a little bit older. My eldest daughter currently goes to the University of East London, so it’s nice to share our experiences of studying together."
