The Coronavirus outbreak is having a major impact on jobs at all levels. Alice Mcdougall, Careers, Employability and Enterprise Manager at the University of Sunderland in London is offering advice and support to help you through.

In these difficult and uncertain times, many of you may be concerned about current and future employment. The Careers and Employability service is still here to support you.

I am putting a list together of companies that are currently urgently recruiting to deal with the COVID-19 outbreak – these are mainly in supermarkets and food production, delivery driving, nursing and social care. I will be updating the list regularly. Please take a look at the University of Sunderland in London’s careers page.

If you need any immediate support with CVs, application forms or interview skills, please contact us on careers-london@sunderland.ac.uk

You can also get access to a wide range of career resources including help with CV writing and application forms. Go to our careers page, click on ‘Careers Resources’ and use your usual student log-in.

Can you help us?

If you know of any companies or organisations looking for staff, please let us know.

If you have recently applied for one of these job opportunities please tell us how you got on and what your recruitment experience was like. Let’s work together to help each other.

Careers guidance interviews and action planning for your longer-term career plans will still be available – please do contact me and we can arrange a virtual appointment.
