Tanya Dunne, Head of Services for Students

Assistant Director Student Experience and Operations

Tanya Dunne joined the University of Sunderland in London in October 2020 as the Head of Services for Students.

Her responsibilities include administering student-focused departments including Careers and Employability, Health and Wellbeing, Student Engagement, the Library, Events, The Gateway and all Reception services.

With a career spanning third sector, international business, charities and education, Tanya is passionate about working with students to ensure they’re at the heart of everything the University does.

The thread linking every role she’s had is her dedication to service and support – for customers, students and colleagues.

Through her work for the British Council, Tanya has travelled globally, across Africa, the Middle East and South Asia.

This, along with her time spent living in Botswana and Russia has given her a deep love for learning about and experiencing first-hand, other cultures.

On top of her role, Tanya is an Aurora HE mentor through AdvanceHE and enjoys supporting the development of others through her expertise as a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator practitioner.

Having recently achieved her APM in Project Management, Tanya is a believer in life-long learning and excited to challenge herself and support the learning of others through her role.
