Lecturer (Tourism and Hospitality)

I am a Lecturer in the Tourism, Hospitality and Events department of the University of Sunderland in London. I gained a BA in Mass Communication from Babcock University, Nigeria. Then obtained an MSc in Tourism and Events Management from the University of Bedfordshire.

I have been a lecturer since 2013, at Elizade University, Nigeria and Canterbury Christ Church University. I joined the University of Sunderland in London in 2019. My teaching covers modules on Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

My PhD awarded by Canterbury Christ Church University, UK explored the governance processes in tourism development in Nigeria.

My current research interest includes participatory planning approaches in tourism development, tourism policies and governance, and sustainable tourism management.

My research has focused on sustainable tourism development planning and tourism governance.

I have published on the impact of terrorism on the growth of the tourism industry and community-based approaches to tourism development, among others
