This Accounting and Finance course has long been a popular choice because of its excellent career prospects. The course is so closely tied to real-world professional requirements that, when you've successfully completed it, you'll be exempt from exam papers from two professional accounting bodies: Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

The course provides professional exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Key accounting and finance themes are supported by specialist areas such as taxation, law and auditing.

Course structure

You'll learn through lectures, seminars, self-directed study, workshops and case studies, working on business problems with your tutor and fellow students. You'll be marked on written exams, coursework and practical assessments.

There is the option to study this course part-time, one day a week over nine semesters.

Introduction to Finance Accounting (20 credits)
Introduction to Management Accounting (20 credits)
Quantative Methods for Business (20 credits)

Year 2 (national level 5):

Audit and Assurance (20 credits)
Business Finance (20 credits)

Business Taxation (20 credits)
Finance Accounting (20 credits)
Introduction to Management Accounting (20 credits)

Final year (national level 6):

Corporate Governance and Ethics (30 credits)
International Financial Reporting (30 credits)
Startegic Management Accounting (30 credits)
Strategic Management Accounting (30 credits)

Fees and finance

2023/24 fees

The annual, full-time, fee for this course is:

£9,250 if you are from the UK (including EU students with settled or pre-settled status resident in the UK)
£14,000 if you are an EU or international student.

2024/25 fees

The annual, full-time, fee for this course is:

£9,250 if you are from the UK (including EU students with settled or pre-settled status resident in the UK)
£16,000 if you are an EU or international student.

Career ready

The students who apply for this course often want to become professional accountants. That could be in financial accounting, managerial accounting. A financial accountant can work for lots of different clients.

A management accountant normally works for one company and helps run the organisation. Our graduates have gone on to work in companies like General Motors and HSBC.
