Assistant Director (Academic)

As the Assistant Director (Academic) for the University of Sunderland in London, Dr Geoff Paul is responsible for the development of academic staff. This includes areas such as teaching and learning standards, innovation in practice and quality management.

Through the development of research and enterprise initiatives, he ensures students receive the highest quality academic experience available.

Geoff also has an interest in the development of collaborative work between academic and administrative staff in increasing the student experience. He also oversees the development of innovative market-facing academic programmes, serving both industry and the commercial sector.

He has responsibility for the implementation of campus-wide standards including the Higher Education Sector, Office for Students and University sector governmental policies.

Geoff became a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (formally the Higher Education Academy) in August 2020.
