Assistant Director (Operations and Student Experience)

Lynsey has over fifteen years’ experience in student support was appointed to the role of Assistant Director (Operations and Student Experience) in January 2020 following senior positions at London Metropolitan University. Her responsibilities at the University of Sunderland in London include oversight of Services for Students, Student Administrations and Systems, and the Operational Team which includes the estate.

Proud to be a ‘non-traditional’ student, Lynsey left school at 18 to work in a variety of roles in the financial services industry, initially in accountancy and later banking. After a parental career break, she started her career in Higher Education on the student helpdesk of the University of East London, before specialising in international student advice and compliance. Lynsey returned to education in 2014 and graduated with a Post-Graduate Certificate from the University of Nottingham, making her the first in her family to attend University.

Lynsey has devised and delivered specialist training for colleagues across the sector and is a seasoned conference presenter and trainer. She is a member of the UKCISA Board of Trustees and Advance HE Aurora Role Model.
