Magdalena Maria

BA (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality Management

Magdalena is in the final year of her BA (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality Management course. She tells us how her love of travelling inspired her studies and gave her the direction she needs to reach her goals.

The course is an opportunity to explore my love of travel and find a way of combining it with my career goals.

“I love travelling. It’s part of who I am. I want to see as much of this beautiful world as I can and, hopefully, make some money along the way.

That’s why I chose to study the BA (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality Management course.

It’s an opportunity to explore my love of travel and find a way of combining it with my career goals.

Although I’m not sure where I’ll end up after I graduate, I really like the idea of becoming a tour guide or something similar.

And with this course, I’m learning everything I need to know to make that dream a reality, as well as getting the skills to succeed at whatever I end up doing.

There's lots to love about the University. The lecturers, like Blerton Hyseni, and Fotios Vasileiou are brilliant.

Plus, the field trips we went on (before COVID-19 of course) were so fascinating – I can’t wait to get back to that really soon.

Although, I have to admit I didn’t find online studying as difficult as I thought. It’s helped that the systems the University put in place are so well done.

It’s meant I could spend more time with my small child too, so there are some positives at least.

If you’re thinking about applying to study here, I would just say go for it!

As I said, the lecturers are brilliant, the support staff are all so friendly and professional, plus the location is amazing and the facilities are so good”.
