Senior Lecturer/Programme Manager (Project Management)

I am a Senior Lecturer in postgraduate business and Programme Manager for Project and Engineering Management at the University of Sunderland in London. I teach in the MSc Project Management, MSc Engineering Management, MSc International Business Management, MBA courses.

I started my teaching career in 2008 in the area of business information technology and since then my areas of expertise have expanded into business and management. My teaching philosophy is built around feminist pedagogy with a keen interest in equality, diversity, and inclusion.

My teaching career spans over 15 years in both the UK and overseas involving both undergraduate and postgraduate learners. Having joined the University of Sunderland in London in mid-2021, you can find me in modules relating to marketing, value creation, international human resource management, and business information systems.

I have a PhD in Business Management from Queen Mary University of London and my research is primarily focused on entrepreneurship, feminism, and gender.

My MSc in Technology Management and BSc in Business Information Technology further influence the interdisciplinary nature of my research interests in the areas of technology acceptance and online trust.

Research

My research looks at entrepreneurship through the lens of the structure and agency gap, while also presenting an inclusive idea of its practice. My research is driven to add to the growing body of feminist entrepreneurship research by creating a more inclusive idea of what it means to be an entrepreneur. In particular, I focus on creating an intersectional theory of the subject, putting the focus on non-western women business leaders from emerging economies.

Coming from an interdisciplinary background, my work is naturally also informed by gender, consumer behaviour, online trust, and technology acceptance.
