About Kim Coogan

I am a lecturer on the BA (Hons) Business and Management programme leading the Human Resources and Leadership Modules. I research school to work transitions, employee expectations and the role of individual-level capitals in working life. With over twenty years of teaching experience, I am passionate about educating the next generation and strive to make my teaching environment dynamic, useful, and enjoyable for all.

I have lived and worked in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, the Republic of Ireland, Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines. I have worked in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors and have held educational leadership roles. I hold a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Education (U.S.A), an MSc. Business Management honours degree (Ireland), and am a final year PhD Candidate (Ireland).

I hold a Certificate of Teaching and Learning (CTL). I also hold a Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) awarded by Cambridge University. I am a qualified IELTS examiner, Cambridge English examiner, and Occupational English Test (OET) examiner for health care professionals. I have held posts as a Head Teacher and led curriculum development projects and language proficiency examination initiatives.
