Lynsey has over twenty years’ experience in UK higher education, having worked in a variety of roles across institutions in London. She has a strong commitment to student support, inclusivity, and accessibility. After joining the University of Sunderland in London, Lynsey expanded her remit to include facilities and campus operations and went on to lead the new campus building project, culminating in the university’s move to Harbour Exchange in 2025. Most recently, she has added institutional governance to her portfolio.
A proud ‘non-traditional’ student, Lynsey left school at eighteen to work in the financial services industry, initially in accountancy and later in banking. Following a parental break, she began her career in higher education on the student helpdesk at the University of East London, before specialising in international student advice and compliance and subsequently moving into management roles.
Lynsey returned to education in 2014, graduating with a Postgraduate Certificate from the University of Nottingham and becoming the first in her family to attend university. Committed to lifelong learning, she has since developed interests across a range of subjects, most recently learning British Sign Language.
Lynsey has devised and delivered specialist training for colleagues across the sector and is a seasoned conference presenter. She is an Advance HE Aurora Champion and was Highly Commended in the 2024 AUDE Emerging Talent Awards. In 2025, she and her colleagues received the Bronze Award in the AUDE Estates and Facilities Team of the Year category.
