In early March, over 20 UoSiL business, management and finance students joined Venture Crawl, an all-day event which creates opportunities for students from across London universities to collaborate and connect with entrepreneurs.

I’m eager to take on extra opportunities while studying at UoSiL, so participating in Venture Crawl was an incredibly rewarding experience. It provided me with a valuable chance to meet industry professionals from the Fintech sector.
Connecting with professionals in Canary Wharf
My group attended talks across Canary Wharf and the City of London, from companies such as Santander and Level39, and entrepreneurs including Daniel Kemdeng and Paul Sheedy.
There was a broad range of sessions – with some focusing on products and services, while others covered graduate schemes and internships that students can apply to post-university.
The event ended at King’s College London, where students from the 13+ universities involved took part in a pitch competition and presented their business ideas to a panel of judges. The day was very insightful, offering us opportunities to build professional networks with businesses and fellow students.
My highlight was meeting professionals from Thomson Reuters, an AI and technology company with its London headquarters in Canary Wharf.
Exploring London’s entrepreneurial ecosystem
Enterprise Development Officer, Ifrah Hassan, said, "This was the first time the university participated in Venture Crawl, and it was a fantastic opportunity for students to explore London’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
“It was wonderful to see students interacting and sharing ideas. Seeing all the stops on our route come together created a memorable experience.”
Following the enthusiasm of students at this year’s Venture Crawl, we look forward to participating again in March 2027.
