I chose the BA (Hons) Business and Management(opens in new tab) degree to gain a comprehensive understanding of how global organisations operate, innovate and lead, with a particular focus on strategic leadership and financial management.

The University of Sunderland in London was my first choice because of its outstanding campus location in Canary Wharf. Being based in the heart of one of the world’s most iconic business districts is a daily source of motivation, while the University’s warm and multicultural community made me feel welcome and at home from day one.

I thoroughly enjoy the academic balance of my studies. The interactive lectures allow us to discuss real-world business challenges with expert tutors, while independent study has helped me develop my critical thinking, personal discipline and research skills.

Looking ahead, my ultimate goal after graduating is to begin my career within a leading financial institution or global organisation, with a particular ambition to work for a world-class firm such as J.P. Morgan. The practical foundations of my degree, combined with the professional guidance provided by the University’s Careers Team, have given me the confidence and strategic mindset needed to pursue these ambitious career goals.

My advice to future international students considering this path is simple: take that leap. Stepping outside your comfort zone to study in a major financial capital can be a life-changing experience. Embrace every lecture, dedicate time to independent study, make full use of the campus resources and build connections with your peers.
