Things to do in London

From world-famous museums and galleries to markets, live music, theatre, sport and parks, there’s always something to do.

Popular places to explore include the British Museum, Tate Modern, the National Gallery, Hyde Park, Borough Market, Camden Market, the South Bank and Covent Garden.

Many of London’s museums, galleries and public spaces are free to visit.

London on a student budget

London can be expensive, but there are plenty of ways to keep costs down, from free museums and events to student discounts, parks, markets and lower-cost places to eat.

Planning ahead, particularly for accommodation and travel, can make a big difference.

Finding somewhere to live

You don’t need to live close to Canary Wharf. Good transport connections mean you can look across east, south-east and other parts of London and balance rent with journey time.
