PhD Doctor of Philosophy

I chose to pursue a PhD in Business and Management (opens in new tab)because I have always been interested in understanding how organisations operate, how decisions are made and how research can help address real-world challenges. My passion for learning and exploring new ideas encouraged me to continue my academic journey at a higher level.
A PhD provides the opportunity to go beyond existing knowledge by conducting independent research, developing critical thinking skills and contributing meaningful insights to the field. I wanted to challenge myself academically, strengthen my research abilities and become someone who can contribute to both academic and professional communities.
My studies have helped me grow as a researcher and have deepened my appreciation of knowledge creation, innovation and continuous learning.
After completing my PhD, my ambition is to pursue a career as a lecturer in higher education. I would like to share my knowledge and research experience with students, support their academic development and inspire them to achieve their goals.
I also hope to continue my research journey by contributing to academic publications, collaborating with other researchers and engaging with wider academic communities. My goal is to combine teaching and research to create a positive learning environment where students feel encouraged to think critically and develop confidence in their abilities.
I chose the University of Sunderland in London because of its supportive academic environment, diverse international community and commitment to providing high-quality education. Studying in London offers a unique opportunity to learn alongside people from different cultures and professional backgrounds, enriching the overall student experience.
The University’s focus on student support, research development and academic excellence was an important factor in my decision. As a PhD researcher, I wanted to study at an institution where I could develop my research skills, receive guidance from experienced academics and contribute to an active academic community.
My experience at the University of Sunderland in London has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally while preparing me for my future career in academia.
My future career goal is to work in the higher education sector, particularly within universities and research-focused institutions. I would like to contribute as a lecturer and researcher, supporting students while continuing to develop my own research interests.
I am interested in working for an organisation that values teaching excellence, research innovation, knowledge sharing and student success. My aim is not only to build my own academic career but also to make a positive contribution to the learning experiences of future students.
I genuinely enjoy both academic discussions and independent study. Although a PhD involves a significant amount of independent research, I value opportunities to engage with academics, discuss ideas and gain different perspectives.
Independent study allows me to explore my research area in greater depth, develop my analytical skills and become more confident and self-reliant as a researcher. I enjoy the process of discovering new knowledge and overcoming challenges, as each stage of my studies contributes to my growth as an academic and future lecturer.
My message to future students is to believe in themselves and embrace every opportunity that University life provides. Higher education is not only about achieving a qualification. It is also about developing confidence, gaining new perspectives, building connections and discovering your potential.
Be curious, stay committed and do not be afraid of challenges. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow. Make full use of the support available, engage with your lecturers and peers and enjoy the journey, as the experiences you gain at University will help shape your future.
