Course summary

This course is a three-year BSc Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence programme designed to develop strong computing knowledge alongside specialist expertise in AI. You will build skills in programming, algorithms, software development, data management and computer systems while exploring areas such as machine learning, deep learning and natural language processing. How you'll learn

You will learn through a combination of lectures, seminars, practical laboratory sessions, workshops, tutorials and independent study. Teaching is designed to help you develop both theoretical knowledge and hands-on technical skills while applying computing concepts to real-world challenges.

Throughout the programme, you will take part in practical coding activities, software development projects, problem-solving exercises and collaborative learning tasks. Modules combine tutor-led teaching with interactive learning, enabling you to build confidence in programming, data analysis, machine learning and AI development.

The course places a strong emphasis on applied learning. You will work with industry-standard tools, technologies and datasets to develop solutions to realistic computing problems. As you progress, you will undertake increasingly complex projects that reflect professional practice. In your final year, you will complete a Capstone AI Innovation Project, allowing you to independently design, develop and evaluate an AI-based solution while demonstrating the advanced skills and knowledge gained throughout the programme.
