Dr Geoff Paul is an accomplished academic and Associate Professor, currently serving as the Assistant Director of the University of Sunderland in London. With a distinguished career in academia, Geoff brings a wealth of expertise and experience to his role.
In his capacity as Assistant Director, Geoff is primarily responsible for the development and growth of Academic Staff at the university. Through his visionary leadership, he strives to foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that the Academic Staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver the highest quality of education to students.
Geoff is also actively involved in the university's Access and Participation Plan (APP), which aims to enhance the educational opportunities for underrepresented groups and promote inclusivity on campus. Through targeted initiatives and support mechanisms, Geoff and his team have made significant strides in reducing attainment gaps between Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) students and their white counterparts. The campus has witnessed a remarkable reduction in these gaps, fostering a more equitable and inclusive learning environment.
Furthermore, under Geoff's leadership, the campus has experienced a substantial increase in attainment levels and increasing NSS student satisfaction over the last four years. Through a combination of innovative teaching approaches, dedicated support services, and a commitment to student success, the campus has seen a remarkable average increase of 35% in attainment levels. This notable achievement demonstrates the university's unwavering commitment to empowering students and ensuring their academic achievements.
Beyond his administrative responsibilities, Geoff continues to actively engage in research and scholarly activities. His expertise in Nudge Theory in Education has led to publications and presentations at prestigious conferences, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
