When her family were going through a crisis Antonia, then in her 20s left full-time education to earn money to support them. But once things started to settle down again, she decided it was time to pursue her dream of working in Human Resources by starting her degree in Business and Management.

It’s never too late to study and fulfil your dream.

“I really enjoy being a student here.

In my early 20s, I was accepted to study law in my home country of Romania. Unfortunately, I had to decline because my family were going through some tough times. I wanted to help them any way I could, so I took on a couple of jobs so I could send money back to them.

I’ve been working six nights a week now since 2015, and my family are doing really well. After three years of working as a manager, I decided to go for a role in HR. To do that I need more knowledge and a degree, which is where the University comes in.

I know that sounds like a lot of stuff, with work and university at the same time. But working nights mean I can take classes and study during the day. It’s tiring, but I already feel like it’s worth it because I’m on my way to achieving my ambitions.

I’ve learned a lot during my time here, things that are already helping me a lot with my career goals. It was a bit scary at first, to be honest. But now I’m not sure why!

I now know that it’s never too late to study and fulfil your dream.”
