“I’m used to studying in other countries so coming to London wasn’t anything scary. More like an amazing opportunity.  

Before I started at the University of Sunderland in London, I left my home country of Romania for a healthcare degree in Portugal.  

I jumped on the opportunity to come to the UK and study business. For one thing, I’m very career-focused, so I wanted something that would help me get employed.  

That’s what the course does for me, it’s helping me get into an industry with very high employability.  

I like to think one day when I eventually do return to Romania, I’ll use the knowledge that I’ve gained here to open my own business.  

The University of Sunderland in London is a fantastic institution, with really talented members of staff.   

That goes for both the academic and support people working here.   

Plus, the location near Canary Wharf is really amazing and very convenient for me.  

I love the teaching methods used in class. They help all of us as students stay connected to what we’re learning by placing the information in a real-world context.  

All the modules are very interesting, but if I were to pick my favourite it would have to be the Entrepreneurship classes.  

I find them really inspiring, which is one of the reasons I’ve started thinking about working for myself in the future.  

The degree is allowing me to grow and eventually have a good job.  

I’d like to work in some area of business, maybe as a manager.  

But honestly who knows what the future has in store, I feel like my path is wide open.  

I would encourage anyone thinking about it to apply to study at the University if you want to learn and grow.  

I’ve enjoyed it so much I’m thinking about studying for my MBA, maybe even working towards teaching business in some way.”
