“I’ve already got three years of nursing education in my country of Nepal. That means I’m a registered nurse and can work in hospitals around the state.

But I wanted to take my education further, which is why I applied for the BSc (Hons) Nursing (Top-Up) degree at the University of Sunderland in London.

With this course, I’ll have the knowledge I need to take my experience even further, maybe getting manager roles and leading teams.

When I was looking around at the various universities I could study in, the UK stood out to me.

Overall, the country has an amazing reputation for expertise in the healthcare field and I figured if I’m going to do this, I should go for the best.

But more than just wanting to study in the UK, I wanted to join the University of Sunderland in London.

Looking through the modules, reading up on its reputation and finding out about the academics convinced me this was the right place for me.

I felt confident that I could get the skills I needed to advance my career.

We get to study under enthusiastic and skilled professionals each with at least one, but often more, areas of clinical expertise.

It’s obviously amazing to have that opportunity, but I must admit it’s a big responsibility. I feel like I there’s a lot to prove, which just makes me keener to work as hard as I can.

I know that pursuing further education is an important milestone in my educational and professional life. It’s the next step to accomplishing my goals.

Once I graduate, I want to bring the knowledge I’ve gained here back to Nepal. I plan on taking on new challenges, helping my country meet the highest global standards.

With the University of Sunderland in London, I feel like that goal is well within my reach.”
