CORE MODULES:
Approaches to Applied Learning for Healthcare (30 credits)
The module will explore essential learning competencies for nursing students in higher education, including critical thinking, academic writing, reflective practice, and evidence-based nursing practice. Emphasis will be placed on effectively managing the challenges encountered within the academic setting of higher education, fostering student confidence and proficiency as learners.
Contemporary Decision-making skills in Health Care (30 credits)
The primary objective of this module is to foster self-assurance among students in the context of shared advanced clinical decision-making skills, with an emphasis on the critical evaluation and enhancement of decisions. This process is conducted while upholding the awareness of user preferences and integrating the most pertinent and reliable evidence available.
Research Methods (30 credits)
The module is structured into manageable steps to help students to understand the research process from study design to study dissemination. Students will learn how to conduct secondary data analysis, appraise research articles using appropriate critical appraisal tools, and gather research evidence to answer any nursing or public health practice questions.
Leadership and Innovation for Sustainable Health Care (30 credits)
This module is to foster self-assurance among students, empowering them to assume leadership roles and contribute to sustainable healthcare through innovative practices within the nursing context. Throughout the module, students will acquire essential leadership skills and knowledge, enabling them to proactively facilitate positive transformation, encourage innovative thinking, and ensure the provision of exemplary, patient-centric healthcare within their professional practice.
Research Project (30 credits)
This module enables students to integrate and apply their theoretical knowledge, clinical skills, and research capabilities through a comprehensive project. These health research projects are designed to contribute to the broader body of nursing knowledge and showcase the students' abilities to conduct rigorous and ethical research. As part of this core module, students will develop competencies in analysing both primary and secondary data, critically appraising research articles using suitable appraisal tools, and gathering research evidence to address specific questions related to nursing practice. Students will also learn to formulate a focused research question tailored to a quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method study. In addition, they will gain essential knowledge and skills in writing a research project.

Contemporary Health Assessment – Adult Nursing (30 credits)
This module will equip students with appropriate skills and knowledge to perform detailed and accurate health assessments, enhancing patient care and outcomes. Students will acquire advanced skills to systematically complete patient assessments and plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This module will equip students with diverse skills to address the unique needs of adult patients in different clinical settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, and community-based care.

This module will equip students with advanced skills and knowledge to perform detailed and accurate health assessments, enhancing patient care and outcomes. Students will acquire advanced skills to systematically complete patient assessments and plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This module will equip students with diverse skills to address the unique needs of sickchildren in paediatric clinical settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, and community-based care.

Students will acquire advanced skills to systematically complete patient assessments and plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This module will equip students with diverse skills to address the unique needs of patients with learning disabilities in different clinical settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, and community-based care.
Contemporary Health Assessment – Mental Health Nursing (30 credits)
This module aims to equip students with the essential knowledge and competencies necessary for conducting foundational health assessments and functioning effectively as Mental Health Nurses. Students will be guided by the ethical principles that are integral to nursing practice at both local and global levels. The module will provide students with critical nursing skills and facilitate the development of expertise through a combination of interactive lectures and hands-on workshops.
