Compass is your first stop for finding the information you need to know about studying and life at the University of Sunderland in London. You can find Compass here.
This online portal gives you access to the questions students most commonly ask in the FAQ section. You can also book appointments, update your personal records and submit your own questions if you can’t find them in the FAQs.
The Student Administration team are asked hundreds of questions every week, everything from how to access and understand your timetable to whether you can get a free copy of Microsoft Office (the answer is yes, by the way!). That means it’s likely that your question, no matter if it’s big or small, has already been asked by someone else. All you need to do is click ‘Search FAQ’ at the top of the page and type your question into the search bar. Compass will look through its entire FAQ database to see if it has your answer.
Compass is also where you go to contact with Student Administration. If you can’t find the answers you’re looking for in the FAQs, you can send your question to Student Admin by raising a ticket. All you need to do is select ‘Create Ticket’ at the top of the page and fill in the boxes. Make sure you give lots of information to help the Student Admin team answer your question. If they don’t have the answer, the team will be able to find the person who does and you’ll be kept up to date the whole time.
Once you’ve submitted your question, you’ll be sent emails telling you when it’s been answered, if it’s gone to another member of staff or if Student Admin need a little more information from you. You can look back at your question history by going to the ‘Ticket History - Notes’ tab.
In these difficult times, Compass also connects you to important information and frequently asked questions about COVID-19 (Coronavirus). That includes everything from whether the University is open to what will happen with your assessment deadlines. Just search ‘Coronavirus’ in the FAQ search bar.
Compass app
It’s now easy to track your questions, visit the FAQs and book meetings on the go through the Campus app. Simply download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. You’ll get useful notifications on all your open questions and can contact the Admin Team directly through the app. Check out this handy video on how to use the Compass app.
