After nearly four months away, we’re delighted to announce the start of a return to campus.

From Tuesday 4th August 2020, the University of Sunderland in London will be reopening the building for some services.

Although classes will still be online, you’ll be able to visit us through a booking system on Tuesdays and Thursdays to access:

Keeping you safe

We’re really excited to be getting back to campus and can’t wait to see you all.

But our first priority is doing that in a way that keeps you safe and makes sure you continue to have access to a brilliant education, top services and all the things that make being a student with us an amazing experience.

The booking system will help us to follow Public Health England’s social distancing guidelines.

That means there will be fewer people on campus, making it easier to stay two metres apart.

You can book an appointment to visit the University on a first-come, first-served basis, through Compass. For more information, read the FAQs.

What we’re doing differently

We’ve put in a number of other measures aimed at reducing the risk of spreading COVID-19.

They include:

A one-way system through the whole building. The stairs will be marked as up or down only and one person at a time will be allowed in the lifts.

Student services have been moved to the ground and first floors. There won’t be any catering services or student access to the 2nd, 3rd or 4th floors for now.

Hand sanitizer stations are available on every floor and screens have been put in place for student areas.

The new entrance will now be on Marsh Wall on the main road and is contact-free, meaning you won’t have to touch the doors to get in.

Finally, it’s worth saying that we’re so proud of the efforts you as students have put into your education over this difficult time. The University of Sunderland in London is a great community of dedicated, hardworking and passionate students and staff from a huge number of backgrounds. We can’t wait to see you all again very soon.

We know you might have more questions so please check out the COVID-19 Guidance pages for the latest information on how we’re making the University safe for you. Welcome back!
