Tsevetelina shares her good experience with the University of Sunderland in London and describes how her degree has helped her to develop and focus on her interest in fashion.

“I am from Bulgaria, and I moved to the UK 8 years ago. I have previous experience in Fashion design and arts. I dedicated the last seven years to the organisation of music events more specifically EDM and Drum & Bass events, and the course was an excellent opportunity to learn something new and to get more future opportunities.
After doing my own research on the courses that I was interested in, the description of the University of Sunderland in London’s offerings caught my attention. Additionally, the university’s location and timetable appear to be ideal. The University of Sunderland in London is a good opportunity for every student who wants to learn something new and interesting. I like the freedom to choose and learn about the events that I am passionate about, as well as apply and develop my own ideas.
Attending university can always impact your perspective and communication with the world. The combination of experience and knowledge gained from university can positively impact your life. Personally, I have many positive and memorable experiences from my time at the University of Sunderland in London, with the most memorable being winning the Silver Fund grant to develop my Sustainable denim fashion show project.
The idea for the Sustainable Denim Fashion Show developed a long time ago and was connected to my interests in fashion design. Last year I had the opportunity to present this idea to the International Fashion Academy in Paris, and I had a certificate for Fashion events management. A few months later, I decided to apply for a silver fund with my project, and I developed the idea for Sustainable Fashion Show, but I gave this idea a new meaning by including in the fashion show DJ, live singers, artists and so on. That was a direct approach to my fellow classmates, and I wanted to involve them in this project and give an opportunity to all to be part of this event and practice what they are most passionate about. We are all interested in different types of events, and this project makes a direct connection between those types of events. That is how everyone can enjoy and do what like to do in the future.
I share my plans with my classmate Ecaterina, and she immediately grabs the idea with excitement and a desire to help me to execute this event. It is extremely important that we fulfil each other in sharing different perspectives regarding the event. Together we created the “Dare to dream team” and invited all students interested to be part of this team. It is very important that the people included also apply their knowledge, experience and creativity, and I believe that together we can create something unforgettable.
The Fashion industry has always been a big part of my life. My educational background is in fashion design, and I have spent several years in this industry. I find great pleasure in creating beautiful and different things. The excitement comes when I see the results of my work.
My dream career is connected to Art and music events. I personally think that the degree is just a platform for all students, but the level of preparation is an individual effort and depends on what students want to achieve. This means that access to a wide range of information connected to this degree provides me with the choice to learn what is important for my future career.
My advice is to believe in yourself and never give up on what you want to achieve.”
