These scholarships and bursaries are for postgraduate applicants looking to joining us in either 2024/25 and/or 2025/26 academic year.

Each section provides you with the latest information on all of our fees, scholarships and bursaries available to you.

We know university is a big investment. Don't worry – the University of Sunderland in London is a great choice and we've got you covered.

We offer a wide range of generous scholarships and bursaries to support you while you study.

Some are automatically awarded, which means you don't need to make an application and will receive them automatically if you're eligible. Others require an application that will assess your eligibility.

2024/25 academic year fees

For students in the UK and in the European Union (EU) with settled or pre-settled status you will be paying:

  • From £7,000* per academic year

For International students and those who are from the EU but have non-settled status you will be paying:

  • From £16,500* per academic year

2025/26 academic year fees

For students in the UK and in the European Union (EU) with settled or pre-settled status you will be paying:

  • From £8,500* per academic year

For International students and those who are from the EU but have non-settled status you will be paying:

  • From £17,000* per academic year

Postgraduate Loan (PGL)

The Postgraduate Loan (PGL) provides up to £12,471 for new postgraduate students starting their course in the 2024/25 academic year.

 

Eligibility

To check if you're eligible for a PGL, visit the official government website: Postgraduate Loan Eligibility.

 

How to Apply

You can apply for a PGL through the Student Finance website: www.logon.slc.co.uk.
If you already have a Student Finance England account from a previous undergraduate loan, simply use your existing login details to apply for the PGL.

 

Payment Information

If you're eligible, the loan will be paid directly into your UK bank account in three equal instalments for full-time students (part-time students will receive six instalments over the course of the academic year).

2024/25 academic year alumni loyalty scheme

What is it?

A £1,000 tuition fee discount for graduates of the university who enrol on a full-time, masters-level course and those who decide to study an MBA will receive a £1,500 tuition fee discount.

Who can apply?

This offer is available to university alumni (graduates) enrolling in a full-time postgraduate course or full-time MBA course at our London campus.

How do I apply?

No application is required. If you’re eligible, the discount will be automatically applied when you enrol.

How will I receive my award?

The discount will be automatically applied to your fees during enrolment.

When will I receive my award?

The award will be applied at the time of your enrolment on your postgraduate course.

 

2025/26 academic year alumni loyalty scheme

What is it?

20% deduction on the full cost of course fee to reward loyal alumni who return to study a postgraduate degree with us.  

Who can apply?

This offer is available to university alumni (graduates) enrolling in a full-time postgraduate course or full-time MBA course at our London campus.

How do I apply?

No application is required. If you’re eligible, the discount will be automatically applied when you enrol.

How will I receive my award?

The discount will be automatically applied to your fees during enrolment.

When will I receive my award?

The award will be applied at the time of your enrolment on your postgraduate course.

 

What it is

A £2,500 cash bursary available each year of study (excluding placement and study abroad years) for care-experienced or estranged students.

 

Who it's for

This bursary is for UK home students enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or full-time taught postgraduate course.

  • Estranged students: Must be under 25 years old as of 1st September 2024.

  • Care-experienced students: Open to students of all ages.
