Once you've finished your course you can work in the UK up to your visa expiry date. You have to make sure you leave the UK by your visa expiry date to so avoid becoming an overstayer.
There might be opportunities for you to get work experience in the UK. Below are some types of visas that you may qualify for that will let you work in the UK after you graduate:
Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa
The Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur (GE) scheme allows international graduates to remain in the UK for up to two years to develop innovative business ideas and entrepreneurial skills. The University of Sunderland in London is a UKVI recognised sponsor under the Tier 1 GE arrangements. We can endorse up to 20 graduates a year that have been assessed by the University as having a genuine and credible business idea. Students or graduates will be required to undergo an assessment to determine the credibility of their proposed business.
Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa
You can apply for a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa if you want to set up or run a business in the UK. You must be from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland.
Tier 2 (General) visa
You can apply for a Tier 2 (General) visa if you have been offered a skilled job in the UK. You must be from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland. To apply for this visa your licensed sponsor must issue you with a certificate of sponsorship. The work you do must relate to the organisation that is your licensed sponsor.
Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme
This is for international students who are currently studying a PhD (or similar doctorate qualification). If accepted, this extends your Tier 4 visa leave to remain for a further year. This will allow you to gain further experience in your chosen field. You will require another CAS from your Tier 4 sponsor.
