Dina Tiperciuc

BA (Hons) Business Management and Entrepreneurship (Top-Up)

Dina Tiperciuc is studying for her BA (Hons) Business Management and Entrepreneurship (Top-Up) degree with us. She talks about how helping others find their dream course led her to apply for the University of Sunderland in London.

The course is exactly what I was looking for. I’m learning and developing my knowledge in a way that will help me take on management roles.

“In 2019 I gave birth to my second child. This was soon after completing my first degree, a foundation course in business.

I needed to take a break from studies to cope with what is always a challenging period in anyone's life and focus more time on my children.

But I knew I wasn’t done with education yet. I aspire to join the world of entrepreneurship.

The foundation degree gave me a strong start. I gained knowledge and developed a wide range of skills.

But I needed to take it further if I was going to reach my long-term professional goals. I wanted advanced business information specific to starting my own company.

I’m proud to be an active part of a large Romanian community in London.

One of the things I do is advise other people from my country about undergraduate courses, as I have some experience in higher education.

I want to help them as best as I can, so I make sure I do my research, which is how I found the University of Sunderland in London.

When I saw the BA (Hons) Business Management and Entrepreneurship (Top-Up) course, I knew this was the place for me.

I applied, was successful and officially enrolled in October 2020.

The course is exactly what I was looking for. I’m learning and developing my knowledge in a way that will help me take on management roles.

You learn about the function of a manager and the influence of leadership in a competitive business world.

I’ve just completed the Entrepreneurship module and I have to say, I really enjoyed it.

So far, I’ve gained a wide amount of knowledge about the subject and become far more confident in my own abilities when it comes to running a company.

I strongly believe the course will help me grow my business and become successful.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, I’ve managed to find a balance between my online studies and my other commitments.

Obviously, with two kids, it’s not been easy. But I like to think of myself as someone who adapts quickly and positively to change.

That being said, I’m looking forward to the day I get to walk into campus and see everyone face-to-face!”
