We celebrated a major milestone this year, with the arrival of the 10,000th student to enrol at the University of Sunderland in London. Darshanaben Patel joined us to study for her Master of Business Administration MBA degree.

To mark the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor Sir David Bell KCB travelled down from our parent campus where he presented Darshanaben with a certificate marking this significant moment at a reception in her honour.

Lecturers from across the University attended the reception where Sir David remarked on the significance of enrolling our 10,000th student.

Sir David Bell said, “What an impressive milestone and great to meet Darshanaben, who typifies the kind of student who studies with us in London.”

On finding out that she was the 10,000th student to join the University with us, Darshanaban said “I was dancing in my home, I was so very happy.”

During his visit, Sir David also took time to meet representatives of the Student Ambassador and Student Mobility projects.

“The 10,000th student is an accomplishment for the University as well as for the educational system as a whole” Student Ambassador Kehinde Tuki said.
