Recent MSc Project Management graduate has secured a full-time, permanent role at AB InBev. Ana Margarida Baleca completed her BA Marketing and International Business degree in Portugal. Alongside and on completion of her degree, Ana secured and developed her experience in marketing-based roles including; building her skills in RM utilisation, database management and technical tools such as Mailchimp, Google Analytics and Salesforce.
Embarking on an MSc in Project Management at the University of Sunderland in London was a transformative experience. The cosmopolitan atmosphere of the campus, enriched by colleagues from all over the world, has greatly enhanced my learning experience. I feel privileged to have had a dedicated teaching staff and industry-relevant classes that together honed my strategic thinking and management skills. This programme not only challenged my intellectual limitations but also fully prepared me for the dynamic world of project management.
Ana decided she wanted to expand upon her skills and qualifications and applied to complete a Masters. To support developing her knowledge in her chosen Masters, Ana secured a Coordinator role where she was responsible for example, in streamlining the host family onboarding process and coordinating successful events.
As Ana drew close to achieving her Masters, she set to work looking for a new opportunity to secure a full-time permanent role. Ana made contact with the Careers and Enterprise Team initially for a CV review. Off the back of using an external, paid CV service, Ana welcomed the feedback from Careers Consultant Anne, where they worked together to develop her CV to ensure the content was clear for recruiters to glance through. Anne also welcomed Ana to join some of the group sessions such as the university’s, How to boost your job searching skills webinar. Along with one-to-one Careers appointments with Anne, sheer commitment and drive from Ana, she secured several opportunities. Ana was processing the advantages and disadvantages of each opportunity and discussed with Anne also to make her final decision to join ABInBev.
