“Last October, I started my course at the University of Sunderland in London, studying for my BA (Hons) in Business, Management and Entrepreneurship (Top-Up).

Since then, through my classes, meeting my fellow students and the amazing support of my lecturers, I’ve become well equipped to follow my dreams.

I started my higher academic study with an HND in Public Administration, but I got the inspiration to pursue entrepreneurship through my work in a privately owned business.

I learned about the importance of higher degrees and how much further you can go with them.

I wanted managerial posts, something that my HND just couldn’t help me with.

So, I decided to add more value to what I can offer the workplace. I have a determination to gain the skills and knowledge I’ll need to go into business for myself – the University is helping me do that.

I chose the University of Sunderland in London after going through an exhaustive research and enquiry process.

I looked at lots of other places, but in the end, I was excited by its great reputation as a friendly and welcoming place to study.

Of course, the location is a key factor for anyone who, like me, is interested in business.

Being surrounded by Canary Wharf, it feels as though I can take my experience beyond the classroom.

Although my favourite thing about the University is the course. In particular, I like the modules on strategic management and globalisation.

They’ve left me confident that I made the right choice in coming to study here.

The knowledge I’ve gained through them is going to help me achieve my dream of owning my own business.”
