“I have a dream of becoming a successful businesswoman. That’s why I’m studying at the University of Sunderland in London, to see that passion fulfilled.
Before I came here, I was studying at the University of Language and International Study in my country of Vietnam.
It was there that I started growing this interest in business. I took on a part-time job and discovered a love for the world of work. Finally, I’d found my dream.
That’s when I made a decision that would change my life forever – I wanted to study business.
I was determined to do my degree in the UK because of the country’s well-known reputation for a leading education system.
I’m particularly proud that I chose the University of Sunderland in London for the course.
It’s giving me a solid foundation for future success in the fast-moving and powerful world of work.
I’m learning how a business works and how to run it well.
Most of all, I just feel happy with the enthusiastic support of the staff, especially the Student Engagement team who helped me when I faced visa issues.
I’ll always feel grateful to them because it meant I could keep going on my student journey.
It’s a little difficult choosing my favourite modules because all of them have given me knowledge of different parts of business.
I like how each lecture has its own workshop to help the students talk about what we’ve learned in the class and put it into a real-world context.
With everything I’m learning, it won’t be hard for me to go after my goals.
Although COVID-19 has meant I haven’t been able to go to face-to-face classes or meet my friends, it was a bit of a learning experience.
I’ve developed my IT skills a lot, which has meant my studies have benefited.
The University has really done its best to support us students over this difficult time.”
