BA (Hons) Business and Management

Robert Eyo is currently studying for his BA (Hons) Business and Management degree at the University of Sunderland in London. He tells us of his passion for working with people and learning about the exciting world of international business.

That’s what I liked about the University of Sunderland in London when I was applying. You get a real understanding of all the elements of business.

“Before I came to study at the University, I was working as an Assistant Manager for an electronic sales company.

It was really my first practical experience of the business world. It showed me I have a passion for it and what I wanted to take it further through my degree.

I dealt a lot with assessing individuals and problem-solving – you had to understand how to talk to people and get the best outcomes for everyone.

Before that, I was studying for my degree in Administrations Studies at the University of Freiburg in Germany.

But business management has always been my ultimate goal. I want to become an expert in how companies grow and the operation of local and global economies.

These things have such a huge impact on our everyday lives it's important to really understand them.

That’s what I liked about the University of Sunderland in London when I was applying. You get a real understanding of all the elements of business.

The course, for me, is the gateway to becoming a manager in the future. I’m learning the skills I’ll need to do that effectively.

I’d really like to open my own international marketing agency – using what I’ve learned to become an entrepreneur.

For anyone thinking about studying here, I would just say you’re the person who controls how much you get from the course.

The education is great, the lecturers are really passionate and you’ll get all the support you need. So, if you meet that with self-discipline, passion and determination you will reach your goals.”
