Case Study

Joanna Tsaousai

BA (Hons) Business Management

For Joanna Tsaousai, the size of the University helped her decide to study for her BA in Business Management. She received the one-to-one support she needed to pursue her career in the photography industry.

What I love most about the University is that the classes are small, so I feel more supported. Because of that, I’m much more confident.

"I had a tour of the University before I applied and the staff really made me feel at home. That was important because I remember being pretty stressed at the time. I’d looked at a lot of universities and been for quite a few interviews but applying directly to the University of Sunderland in London was quick and really simple.

I’d done a foundation course outside London but it just wasn’t very convenient. Some friends recommended the University of Sunderland in London and I’m so glad they did. What I love most is that the classes are small so I feel a lot more supported and because of that, I’m more confident.

The one-to-one support from staff is excellent. It’s really important that I feel more involved at university so I became a Student Ambassador here. It’s a great way of meeting people and giving something back.

I’m passionate about photography and I genuinely feel that the University’s enthusiasm matches my own. They’re already giving me a strong foundation to build on as I work towards a career in the industry I love."
