Who is it for?

Prepare4Uni is specially designed for applicants and prospective students seeking to study an undergraduate degree with us.

If you're thinking about joining the University of Sunderland in London community, this is the course for you.

It's free to join and gives you a unique introduction to what it's like to study here and how to get the most from your studies.

You'll learn about the expectations of our student community, create study plans and get support on areas including time management and financial guidance.

What will I learn?

Prepare4Uni covers key areas of university life, including:

An overview of the University and the benefits of studying with us
Exploring the benefits of achieving your qualification and individual motivation to study
An introduction to the support services available at the University
Recognising the value of active participation in class
Understanding the level of organisation for successful study/life balance
Highlighting the required extracurricular activities you need to succeed
Understanding the importance of digital literacy for work and life opportunities
Developing digital skills
Understanding the principles of academic research, concept of referencing and the importance of avoiding plagiarism through library support
Providing a realistic overview of student finances and offering advice on budgeting as a student
Understanding health and wellbeing support for students
Introducing Personal Academic Tutor support

How it works

The course is made up of eight sessions over four days, taking place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am to 4pm.

Your classes will be a combination of face-to-face and online learning and you'll be taught by our expert academics and support staff.

The next class of Prepare4Uni will start on Tuesday 13 September 2022 at 10am with further information being sent to you upon signing up.
