Research

My research investigates the phenomenon of extended career-breaks among professional women in the United Kingdom. I am particularly interested in the influence of agency and structure duality upon women’s career decisions. I explore the interconnectivity between the existing gendered patterns of individual behaviour and structural conditions in public and private/domestic spheres in this context. I apply my multi-disciplinary training towards literary and social research, examining the dynamics of gender and identity in literature and in society.
