Personal Academic Tutor (PAT)

I am a Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) at the University of Sunderland in London. I provide subject specific support to BA (hons) Business and Management students. I hold a MSc in International Business Management from University of Sunderland and a BSc in International Relations and Political science from University of Palermo. I also hold a Diploma in Geopolitics from University of Palermo in partnership with Comenius University of Bratislava and the Institute of European Studies and International Relations.

My academic journey has been complemented by two years of experience in Higher Education within various roles (Gateway/ Engagement team) where I had the privilege to support students from diverse background, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. As a Personal Academic Tutor, my primary goal is to enrich the student experience by providing subject-specific guidance, cultivating critical thinking skills, and nurturing academic growth.

Research

  • As an early researcher, my interests are related to three main areas: business operation, business analytics and marketing.
  • Currently, I am enthusiastically engaged in a collaborative Research Project with my colleague, Gabriela Preutesei, focusing on ‘Facilitating academic success by fostering student self-esteem throughout Personal Academic Tutoring’.
