Lecturer (Postgraduate Public Health)

I am a postgraduate lecturer in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Well-being at the University of Sunderland in London, teaching Epidemiology & Health Measurement (Module Leader), Social Determinants of Global Health & Health Systems, Health and Research Methods, Applied Public Health Practice and Dissertation. I am an active researcher and supervise MSc. in Public Health students on various public & global health issues. My strength is in quantitative research and published several articles in national & international journals including case reports, cross-sectional studies, systematic reviews, scoping reviews and secondary data analyses.

Teaching and supervision

I teach MSc. in Public Health course and deliver classes for a number of modules including:

My expertise lies in the field of Epidemiology, Public Health, Global health as well as pharmacology.
I have a master of science degree in public health (Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge) and a doctorate degree in pharmacy (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences). I joined UoSiL in April 2022 as an associate lecturer with a teaching focus on Health and research methods. However, teaching within higher education provided me the opportunity to develop or progress a career skilled in devising and delivering programmes focused on raising the attainment and learning needs of students. Currently, I am the module leader for the epidemiology and health improvement course, module deliverer of Social determinants of global health & health systems, Health and Research Methods, Applied Public Health Practice and Dissertation supervisor of MSc. Public Health students. Prior to my role at UoSiL, I worked as a clinical pharmacist and delivered lectures for pharmacy students in subjects such as pharmacology, pharmacotherapeutics & clinical pharmacy; and provided short-term classes for diploma students in Health education, drug store & business management and hospital pharmacy. I am an active researcher and my research interests include various public health issues in the UK and from southeast Asia. I got training with Publons Academy for peer reviewing and am a regular reviewer of the journal- PeerJ.
