Lecturer (Undergraduate Nursing)

I am a lecturer in nursing at the University of Sunderland in London. This is my first academic role, having come from a career and a registered nurse with some counselling experience.

Teaching and supervision

Specifically, I teach:
- NUR 319
Evidence-Based Practice
- NUR304 Law and Ethics in Healthcare

I have a particular interest in effective communication in healthcare, which is still one of the major issues in the sector.

I’ve worked in nursing for the past seven year, five of which were spent in the Intensive Care Unit, which suited my interests as a critical care nurse.

I’m also coming to the end of my studies as a qualified counsellor, which has helped me understand people in a more empathetic way, building my communication skills.
