Lecturer (Tourism and Hospitality)

I am a lecturer in Tourism and Hospitality Management and the coordinator of the BSc (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality Programme at the University of Sunderland in London.

I have over twenty years of experience in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry, including teaching Tourism, Hospitality and Events undergraduate and postgraduate courses in UK Higher Education.

I very much enjoy my profession for it presents endless opportunities of interacting with motivated young individuals, lots of chances to inspire teamwork and other thought-provoking experiences.

My current research interests include:
- Equality and Diversity
- Female Leadership
- Employment in Tourism, Hospitality, Events and Entertainment
- Responsible Tourism
My Tourism Management Master’s degree with Distinction was awarded by Ulster University and I am currently working towards my PhD at the University of Sunderland.  My research is related to Female Leadership, which is a passion of mine. Holding a PGCert in Education, I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. 

I am also a longstanding member of the Guild of Travel and Tourism (London) and the Institute of Hospitality (UK).
