Personal Academic Tutor (PAT)

I am a Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) at the University of Sunderland in London. I provide support to BA (hons) Business and Management - year 2 students. I hold an MA in Higher Education and PGCHE in Teaching and Learning. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). I also hold BSc (Hons) Nutrition Science.

I have over 10 years of experience supporting students in Higher Education. I am passionate about the transformative potential of the ability to learn, at any age any stage. My most recent experience, prior to joining University of Sunderland in London, was supporting Level 7 Senior Leader Apprentices, who were also completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration. I have developed my Higher Education capabilities through a range of teaching roles including: research supervisor, sessional lecturer, module leader and programme leader roles. As a Personal Academic Tutor, my primary goals are to cultivate critical and reflective thinking, and nurture academic growth. I aim to support students become confident independent learners who are able to achieve their aspirations.


Research

I am currently undertaking PhD studies in Education and Social Justice with Lancaster University, planned completion October 2028.
